It is with a very sad heart, the TNSF Board of Directors have decided that we will be shutting down at the end of this year. We have been seeing a decline in membership over the past few years and have had an increase in costs. Not only higher costs for the magazine, but to maintain an office with staff who have diligently put a leading magazine together for 46 years. We have been trying to find every opportunity to stay open these past few years, but have come to the point where we just don’t have the funds to do so any longer. This was a very difficult decision for this board, as we have loved this organization and wanted deeply to keep it going.
We will put out one more magazine before the end of the year. Mark Storey will be editing this. We want to say goodbye to our members who have been there for many, many years, supporting us along the way. We want to say thank you as well to our guest editors who have been helping us these past 2 years to put out a different slant on their issues. We also want to acknowledge the many years that Nicky, Carmen, Margaret, Jan and all the staff prior to them leaving gave us. We especially want to thank Emily for being our executive director the last 2 years, and the current staff who have been trying diligently to maintain the quality magazine everyone expects. Anyone who has been on the board of directors these past 3 years have given their heart and soul to keep this alive.
We will also be doing one more calendar which was in high demand and will be our send off product. We usually sell about 300 of these, but if there is more of a demand, we will try to get one to anyone who wants one.
Our last Town Hall Meeting is for members only and will still be held on November 7th. We hope anyone who wants to come in can join us. An email to register for this will be sent out shortly.
